Welcome to Club 67

After some early delays, we’re ready to accept registrations for this year’s edition of the bike club, now known as Club 67.

How to join

To join, the process is pretty straightforward.

  1. Drop by the shop
  2. Fill out our waiver form. You must be 11 or over to join and, if you’re under 18, your parent / guardian must sign the waiver for you.
  3. Pay your membership dues ($55) and pick up your t-shirt.
  4. Go home and get your bike ready

Ride schedule

Group rides are scheduled to take place on Sundays at the Woodlot (ask for directions), starting 18 March and continuing until early October. Once it gets lighter, our Wednesday evening rides will kick in at 6pm. There will be a few cancellations later in the season when ride dates conflict with BC Cup events.

Woodlot rides. Rides for all experience levels at the Woodlot will continue this year. All riders must have a helmet, gloves, riding-specific leg protection, and some way of carrying water.

Cross country rides. We’re also going to have a weekly cross country ride for intermediate to advanced riders. The xc ride will be a training-style ride, and you’ll be gassed at the end of the session. Dates and times are TBA. All riders must have an appropriate helmet, gloves, and water.

Races. Finally, we’re looking at holding a couple of low-key, low-fee races this year. Prices will be announced well in advance of the event, but entry fees for club members will be under $10. There will be some cross country events and a couple of downhill races, but that’s all we’re going to tell you until we get closer to the event dates. BBQs will follow all events.

What else do you get for your money?

In addition to a regularly scheduled group ride, Club 67 members receive:

  • Insurance through GRMBA (Grass Roots Mountain Biking Association)
  • A club t-shirt, jerseys will be available for purchase shortly
  • 15% off regularly priced parts and accessories
  • Guaranteed entry into club events
  • A year-end bash at the shop

We’ll also make contributions to local cycling advocacy groups and trail builders and, on occasion, we’ll bring a group of riders out to help local builders. We do what we can to keep the trails open and accessible.

I was wondering who you hire to lead or work with the riding groups you send to the woodlot? I’ve seen them on many rides there and always though it would be a sweet rewarding gig to have. Thanks for any info you have on this
