Well, after a couple of months where it looked like global warming was running amok in Maple Ridge, it looks like the weather is starting to take a turn for the better. If the number of people visiting the dikes and local parks is any indication, better weather means more chances for ‘regular’ people to get outside and enjoy the sights and sounds around town. Every day we hear stories about people losing bikes to thieves. Usually, the bikes are taken out of backyard sheds and open garages but lots of bikes are taken from outside public places like schools, gyms, and malls. Full entry »

Banshee Bikes burst onto the freeride scene in the first part of this decade with now classic, hardcore freeride frames like the Scream and the Morphine, and heavy-duty all mountain frames like the Chapparal. The bikes took tonnes of abuse and most of the frames kept on ticking; you can still see these beasts on the trails around town and up at Whistler. Full entry »

Norco redesigned the entire Shore series of bikes for 2008, and they’re starting to trickle into the shop. Designed specifically for the rigours of BC riding, the Shore bikes are meant to take abuse at our region’s bike parks or on the trails at the Woodlot, at Vedder, or on the Shore (duh!). Full entry »
