2008 Norco Kids’ bikes : Girls

Spring is always a great time to get young children (and their parents) onto bikes, when there are plenty of chances for quality family excursions and short, after school rides. Whether you pack up your bikes and drive down to the local network of dikes to see wildlife, newly green plants, and blossoming flowers or if you simply choose to ride your bikes out of your driveway and around the many subdivisions that comprise Maple Ridge.
The Run Bike

Norco introduced its Run Bike in 2007 and, so far, it’s been a great success. Run bikes encourage kids to develop the balancing skills required to ride a full-blown bike without troubling them with pedals or brakes. They’re solid, lightweight machines that are built to take a beating, with puncture-proof PVC tires, an aluminum frame, a seat with a built-in handle (so parents can carry them), and kid-friendly grips.
Ideal for ages 2-5
MSRP: $99
12″ Norco girls bikes

Norco has two 12″ bikes for young girls who are just starting out on a two-wheeler. Our 12″ girls bikes come with coaster brakes (foot activated) and removable training wheels so new riders can learn without worrying about falling over (something the Run Bike helps with) or not having the hand strength to reach the brakes.
Ideal for ages 4-6
MSRP: $92-$119
16″ Norco girls bikes

Many girls skip the smallest-wheeled bikes (the 12″) or stay on them for a short time because they start on a Run Bike or they grow like weeds and outgrow the smaller option. For this reason, the 16″ bikes are among our most popular options for kids. They use coaster brakes and come with removable training wheels.
Ideal for ages 5-8
MSRP: $124-$135
20″ Norco girls bikes

Moving up to a 20″ bike from a smaller bike often poses a little bit of a challenge for girls on the lower end of the recommended ages because they’re moving to a bike that’s a little more stretched out and introduces a few new features that require a little bit of learning (hand brakes, gears, freewheels). The bikes are still super-durable and great for getting out and having fun, but they come with a learning curve that can sometimes be frustrating for a someone who knows how to ride, but isn’t used to all of the new stuff.
Note: Most 20″ bikes do not include training wheels or coaster brakes. If either of these is a requirement for your child, let us know and we’ll suggest appropriate alternatives and / or solutions.
Ideal for ages 8-10
MSRP: $126 - $355 (6 different models)
24″ Norco girls bikes

Just before your daughter is ready to move onto a full-sized adult bike, Norco provides six models for aspiring riders. Whether you choose the aluminum Jammer with entry-level components ($455) or the steel 12-speed Roxy ($185), you can be sure that you’re putting your favourite young girl on a decent bike that will last until they outgrow it.
Ideal for ages 8-10
MSRP: $185-$455 (6 models)
