Team

This year is going to be an exciting one for our race team. We’ve got some riders who are ripping up that track at local BMX events, some that are pinning it on the BC Cup DH circuits, and others who race marathon and cross country races around the province.

Ewan Fafard

Downhill

Most of you know Ewan from the work that he’s done at the Woodlot, but he’s also a ripper who’s been posting some excellent results on the BC Cup and Canada Cup circuits, along with those at other events on the local downhill schedule.

Early results for this season have been solid, with a 13th in Elite Men at the first Canada Cup event at Mt. Bromont in Quebec and a 5th the following weekend at Mt. Tremblant. Ewan bagged first in Elite Men at the 2008 Rat Race and is training for upcoming Canada Cup races in BC and for the UCI events being held in Quebec later this year.

Jared Ennis

BMX

Jared started BMX at the age of seven and has consistently rated in the Canadian top three over that past five years in both twenty inch and cruiser BMX. Jared was sponsored by Maple-Ridge Cycle when he competed in the BMX World Championships in Victoria 2007 finishing in the world’s top twenty. Jared’s home track is at Ridge-Meadows where he races Tuesdays nights. Injury has kept Jared out of the Canadian Championships this year (2008), as soon as he is fit, Jared will continue in both the Western National where the finals are in Calgary and B.C Provincial series where the finals are in the lower mainland.

Rory Ennis

BMX

Rory first raced BMX when he was fourteen and despite the late start has earned a healthy respect from his fellow racers. Rory’s best finish was a forth place in the Canadian National Championships 2006. Because or his age Rory now competes with rider ranging form 17 to 24 years old. This year 2008 Rory will be competing in the Western National and B.C Provincial series. Rory’s home track is at Ridge-Meadows where you can see him races Tuesdays nights.

Rich Humphries

Cross country, Marathon, BMX

Rich rides all over the place. Whether it’s at the Ridge-Meadows
Rich is possibly the most prolific rider in our stable. Being competetive in four different disciplines is not something that many riders can lay claim to. He races in the BC Cup Xcountry and marathon series, has podiumed in two different world BMX championships, and will compete in his third next year in Victoria.

Being the sharing guy he is, Rich will also be offering his coaching and training services to our club members and any other interested parties this year. Being a local, he is readily available and I’m sure that his talent and know-how is something that many people will tap into this year.
